2Face’s “African Queen” Named Billboard’s Top Afrobeats Song of All Time
Abuja, Nigeria, August 20, 2025: In a major nod to Afrobeats history, Billboard has unveiled its inaugural Top 50 Best Afrobeats Songs of All Time, placing 2Face Idibia’s timeless classic, “African Queen,” at number one.
Compiled by Billboard’s editorial team, the list highlights Afrobeats tracks that have made lasting cultural, stylistic, and commercial impact. Among the top 10, Wizkid stands out as the only artist with two entries, “Ojuelegba” at number two and “Essence” (featuring Tems) at number five.
The elite top five is rounded out by Flavour’s “Nwa Baby (Ashawo Remix)” at number three and Rema’s global sensation “Calm Down” at number four.

CKay’s “Love Nwantiti”
D’banj’s “Oliver Twist”
Davido’s “Fall”
Burna Boy’s “Ye”

Nigerian artists lead the list, but Ghanaian stars also make their mark, Fuse ODG’s Azonto (feat. Itz Tiffany) ranks at number 18, while Sarkodie’s Adonai (feat. Castro) also features prominently.
On the female-front, Yemi Alade’s “Johnny” claims the highest ranking for a lead female artist, at number 15.
