Onyinyechi Basil, a 25-year-old beauty queen from Anambra State, was crowned Miss Universe Nigeria 2025 at a glamorous finale held in Lagos last Saturday evening.

The grand event saw Basil emerge victorious from a field of 22 contestants, including finalists from states such as Lagos, Bayelsa, Ogun, and Akwa Ibom.

She succeeded Chidimma Adetshina, the 2024 titleholder

Competition Highlights

The event, hosted by Anthony Abraham and Victory Wilson at the Eko Hotels and Suites and Balmoral Event Centre, included segments such as swimwear, evening gown, traditional attire, and a question-and-answer portion.

First runner-up: Damilola Bolarinde (Miss Lagos)

Second runner-up: Fortune Kurobo (Miss Bayelsa)

Third runner-up: Irene Ikediashi (Miss Ogun)

Additionally, Idah Eno (Miss Akwa Ibom) was named Miss Supranational Nigeria 2025 for her strong showing

The top ten finalists emerged from the initial group of twenty-two, with competitors from Delta, Ekiti, Imo, Ebonyi, and Oyo making it to that advanced stage.
