September 2, 2025, San Jose / Riyadh, Nigeria’s celebrated football star Asisat Oshoala has completed a two-year transfer to Saudi Women’s Premier League side Al-Hilal, following her recent medical in Riyadh. The move marks the end of her stint with Bay FC in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) and sets the stage for a new chapter in her decorated career.

Aged 30, Oshoala joined Bay FC during their inaugural 2024 season and quickly became a key figure, scoring the franchise’s first-ever goal and finishing as team top scorer with seven goals in the regular season.

However, her playing time diminished in 2025; she featured in 12 matches, started only five, and failed to score or assist before the transfer.

Bay FC Sporting Director Matt Potter lauded Oshoala’s “energy, professionalism, and kindness,” calling her “a world-class player and an even better person.” He expressed gratitude for her contributions and best wishes as she embarks on the next phase of her career with Al-Hilal.

For Oshoala, the move to Al-Hilal offers an opportunity to reunite with fellow Nigerians Ashleigh Plumptre and Francisca Ordega, two players already at the Saudi club, and to bring her elite-level experience to a rapidly evolving league.
