From Engineer to Statesman to Royalty
Born on September 24, 1944 in Gambari, Ibadan, Ladoja studied chemical engineering at the University of Liège, Belgium, before serving as a senator and later Governor of Oyo State in 2003.
His political career was marked by adversity, including impeachment in 2006, only to have the Supreme Court reinstating him later that year.
A brief arrest by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) followed in 2008 over alleged financial misconduct; bail was granted shortly after.
