Billionaire businessman Femi Otedola delivered heartfelt and memorable words as he gave his daughter Temi away in marriage, advice now circulating widely after a video of the moment went viral.

Addressing Temi and her husband, Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade (known professionally as Mr Eazi), Otedola described Mr Eazi as “a great guy, very blessed,” affirming that he comes from a “very decent family.” Then, strikingly, he told his daughter: “You have to succumb to the whims and caprices of your husband. He’s your boss. There’s no more dad, don’t call me up.”

Departing from traditional parental advice, Otedola encouraged the newlyweds to handle issues privately: “When you have issues, problems, just keep it within yourself. Never call any friend that you have this problem. Just keep it within your walls, and God will bless you and bless your marriage.”

Drawing on their shared drive, he also praised both Temi and Mr Eazi as entrepreneurs: “They’re real hustlers, this is made in heaven. You go places.” He then presented them with a generous wedding gift, urging them to “out-think, out-manoeuvre, and out-spend”, underpinning his belief in their future success.

Prominent industrialist Aliko Dangote also offered his blessings. To Mr Eazi, he said: “You are very lucky to have Temi as your wife… from childhood she’s been an entrepreneur who never depended on her father’s money.” Acknowledging Mr Eazi’s own business acumen, operating in 18 countries across Africa, Dangote highlighted their shared ambition and advised them to prioritize their union: “When you get married, you drop friends… now it’s just between the two of you. Sort it out amongst yourselves.” He added with optimism, “In the next few years we’ll take a back seat and call you the richest people on earth.”

The couple’s wedding journey included official ceremonies in Monaco (May 9) and a traditional ceremony hosted at the Dubai residence of Temi’s father, before culminating in a private celebration in Iceland last month.
