Terry G Vows He Will Never Retire From Music
Veteran Afrobeats artist Gabriel Oche Amanyi, better known as Terry G, has declared that he has no plans to retire from music, even if it means being viewed as an “upcoming” artist.
The 39-year-old singer made the statement in response to critics who accused him of chasing clout on social media. On his X (formerly Twitter) account, Terry G wrote:
“I fully embrace being seen as an upcoming artist. You only become a legend when you retire, and I’m never retiring. So if you catch me chasing clout, let me be.”
Terry G, known for pioneering what is often called “Street-hop” in the 2010s, released several hits during that time, including Free Madness, Sangalo, Akpako Master, and Run Mad.
Currently, he’s working on making a comeback, collaborating with Victony on a track titled “Tanko.”
