Rapper Cardi B has opened up about how physically challenging the birth of her second child, Wave, was, and expressed optimism that her upcoming delivery will be much easier.

A Painful Memory

On the radio show The Breakfast Club, Cardi B reflected on her earlier childbirth experiences. She said that giving birth to Wave “broke me” because he was “too big,” which led to tearing. She recalled that even when she had her first daughter, Kulture, she “had to stitch,” clarifying that she “ripped.”

She described the recovery after that birth as very difficult.

Perspective on Her Third and Forth Pregnancy

Cardi noted that childbirth got easier with her third child, Blossom. She is currently expecting her fourth child, her first with boyfriend Stefon Diggs, and is hopeful her body’s recent experience gives her confidence for a smoother birthing process this time.

She also shared that despite feeling anxious, she has been preparing physically for labour and plans to resume work and tour rehearsals soon after the birth.

A Look Ahead

Cardi’s comments resonate with many who have undergone difficult deliveries, and her openness draws attention to the physical realities of childbirth often glossed over in public discussion. With her fourth child due before her “Little Miss Drama” tour begins in February 2026, she is hopeful that her experience this time will be manageable and less traumatic.
