Actor Saga Shares Approach to On-Screen Intimacy, Launches New Film ‘Falling Notes’

Nigerian actor and former reality-TV housemate Adeoluwa “Saga” Okusaga has revealed how he approaches romantic and intimate scenes in his work, as well as the origin of his upcoming film project, Falling Notes.

Speaking in an interview with the entertainment show Jay On Air, Saga stressed the importance of consent, communication, and professionalism when filming on-screen kissing or romantic sequences. He explained that before any kissing scene he sits down with his co-star to map out how the scene will go, ensuring that both actors are comfortable and clear about what will happen.

He specifically mentioned:

“Before I get into kissing any actor, I sit with her and I tell you how we’re gonna go about this. I use my hand to describe it’s gonna be quick, we need to know what it is because you don’t want to have your lips locked and then the person is trying to evade your mouth”.

Saga also delved into how the idea for Falling Notes came about. In January 2025, he felt a creative pull to try something new, combining his background in engineering, his artistic interests, and his passion for entertainment. He said he asked himself “What can I do? What can I do? I need to do something.”

He added that alongside acting and filmmaking, he even sang in the film, expanding beyond his usual roles.

Reflecting on his earlier work in content creation, Saga noted that his frequent collaborations with fellow former BBNaija contestant Roseline “Liquorose” Afije helped pave the way to being taken seriously in the film industry. Their “couple chronicles”-style content, produced weekly over about two years, helped showcase his versatility and opened doors to professional opportunities.

In summary, Saga’s take-aways for on-screen intimacy include:

Always discussing the scene in detail ahead of shooting to ensure clarity and comfort.

Maintaining boundaries and treating intimate scenes as professional work rather than spontaneous moments.

Employing intention and coherence in storytelling, even in romantic sequences.

Leveraging earlier content work to build credibility and transition into full-scale projects like Falling Notes.
