She’s Like My Sister, I Can’t Marry Her, Says Kolapo Omotosho of Opeyemi Ayanwale (Imisi)
In a recent live stream, Big Brother Naija Season 10 finalist Kolapo “Kola” Omotosho finally addressed the swirling rumours about his relationship with the show’s winner, Opeyemi “Imisi” Ayanwale. According to multiple entertainment‐news sources, Kola stressed that despite the close bond they shared on the show, their relationship remains strictly platonic.
“Imisi is my sister, I can’t marry my sister. Imisi is in her house, I am in my house. Please, can we make this about me?” he said.
What he said
Kola insisted that Imisi is like a sibling to him, and that the romantic assumptions being made by fans are misplaced.
He pointed out that their living situations are separate and that he wishes for people to respect his boundary and focus on his own journey.
Previously, after the show ended, while speaking to journalists, he had also described their connection as “just my sister” and confirmed the win of Imisi as a win for him, too.
Why this is significant
During the show, many viewers speculated that their frequent interactions and mutual support could evolve into romance. Their appearances together post-show further fueled the speculation. But Kola’s statement now sets a clear boundary. Whether this is to quiet fan theories or protect their individual careers, it clarifies a long‐running topic in the public eye.
What this means going forward
Imisi and Kola will likely continue to be perceived as good friends with a sibling-type bond, rather than romantic partners.
Fans and the media may shift their focus away from their relationship storyline and more towards each of their individual post-show paths.
It also allows both stars to manage their public brand without being defined by the “ship” narrative.
