ADC Inaugurates New Abuja Headquarters at Former Atiku Campaign Office
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) on Monday officially opened its new national secretariat in Abuja, establishing its base in the building that formerly served as Atiku Abubakar’s presidential campaign office.
At the unveiling, ADC National Chairman Sen. David Mark described the four‑storey complex as more than just a structure, he said it is a “launchpad” for a disciplined, visionary, and people-oriented political movement that aims to reshape Nigeria’s democratic future.
Mark added that the building will serve as the party’s operational nerve center, where ideas will be refined, strategies developed, and the next generation of leaders groomed. He pledged that within these walls, the ADC will champion policies to uplift communities, strengthen institutions, and protect democratic values.
Addressing rumors that the property was donated by Atiku, ADC’s National Publicity Secretary Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi clarified that Atiku was only a tenant during his campaign and that the lease has since expired. He asserted that the ADC is now the rightful occupant, and cautioned against overinterpreting the move as a sign of any special political alignment.
Abdullahi also used the occasion to reject notions that the ADC’s upcoming presidential ticket has been reserved for any particular individual. He emphasized that the new headquarters signals a renewal and a commitment to internal fairness, saying that the party’s future direction is not tied to a single figure.
