Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has emerged victorious in the two polling units located in the Benue State Government House in Makurdi.
In the Arts theatre polling unit 011, Alia secured 130 votes, while his closest rival, Engr. Titus Uba of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), received 43 votes. Similarly, at the Protocol polling unit 022, the APC candidate garnered 36 votes, while the PDP candidate obtained 10 votes.
The victory for Alia in these two polling units is a significant boost to his chances of winning the governorship election in Benue State.
Meanwhile, Governor Samuel Ortom, who is a member of the G-5 led by Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, is among the seven governors who lost their senatorial bids in the recently concluded elections.
