British YouTuber and “danger tourist” among three Britons held by Taliban counter-intelligence in Kabul

Reports have emerged that three British men, including a 21-year-old YouTuber known as “Lord Miles” for his dangerous stunts, are being held by the Taliban’s counter-intelligence unit in Kabul.

Miles Routledge, from Birmingham, has over 140,000 Twitter followers and is known for his travels to dangerous places around the world.

Along with two Polish nationals, he was arrested on March 2 and is being held for further questioning. It is not clear why he returned to Afghanistan, but it is believed he intended to film footage for his social media accounts.

Last August, Mr Routledge visited Kabul during the Taliban’s takeover of the country, attracting criticism for leaving while thousands of Afghans were left behind.

In a video posted on YouTube, he is seen firing automatic weapons with a Taliban fighter and a member of a local mafia.
