Actress Dayo Amusa Refutes HIV Rumors, Shares Negative Test
Nigerian actress Dayo Amusa has publicly rejected rumours that she is living with HIV, releasing proof of a recent negative test to put the matter to rest.
The speculation began after a content creator named Olaoluwa Segun alleged, in a video, that Amusa was among five Nigerian actors who purportedly have HIV.
In response, Amusa took to social media to denounce the claim as false and malicious.
She reminded the public that she had already shared a negative HIV test result in 2019 as part of a health-awareness campaign, clarifying that the post was intended to encourage others to know their status, not to suggest that she was affected.
To counter the renewed allegations, Amusa posted on Instagram a photo of her recent test result confirming she is not HIV-positive.
She also warned that she may pursue legal action against the person who spread the unverified claim.
In her message to her followers and the wider public, she urged that HIV testing be part of regular health routines, saying it is important both to safeguard one’s own health and to prevent harm to others.
