Anita Natacha Akide (Tacha) Sets Two New Guinness World Records for Makeovers
Nigerian media personality and entrepreneur Anita Natacha Akide, better known as “Tacha”, has officially been recognised by Guinness World Records (GWR) for not one but two extraordinary achievements in the beauty industry.
Record‑breaking feat
Tacha completed 82 individual cosmetic makeovers in 8 hours, and then went on to do 144 individual makeovers in 24 hours.
Her achievement surpassed the previous record holder, Mary Yongai of Sierra Leone, by over 30 makeovers.
Each makeover followed a strict format: foundation, concealer, blush, two eyeshadows, mascara, lip liner and gloss, finishing powder and eyebrows.
The challenge behind the numbers
The record attempt took place during her “Tacha Beauty Festival” in Lagos, where she set up a public station with a glass wall so passersby could watch.
Despite facing heavy storms and multiple power outages during the challenge, Tacha and her team pressed on with phone flashlights and an improvised setup.
Her message and significance
Tacha revealed the deeply personal inspiration behind her record bid:
“Makeup has always been my safe space… this record was born from that same spirit, resilience and the courage to stand out. I wanted to show that Nigerian women can achieve anything they put their minds to.”
She emphasised that the achievement was not just about setting a record, but about inspiring creativity and recognition for African women in global spaces.
What this means
The accomplishment elevates Tacha’s profile beyond reality‑TV fame and beauty entrepreneurship, she now holds official world records.
It highlights Nigeria’s growing influence in the global beauty and wellness sector.
For her fans and upcoming creatives, it’s a concrete example of turning passion into measurable achievement.
