Aliyu Mohammed Sani, popularly known as “Ali Gayu Na Baba,” who made headlines in 2019 for bathing and drinking water from the gutter to celebrate President Muhammadu Buhari’s re-election, has dumped the All Progressive Congress (APC) for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The 38-year-old announced his decision while speaking to reporters in Bauchi, citing frustration and neglect by the APC as his reason for switching sides.
Sani revealed that after his viral act of celebration in 2019, he received no support or care from the ruling party.
However, a member of the PDP, Alhaji Musa Azare, flew in from Abuja to visit him and offer assistance. The kind gesture endeared the PDP to him, leading to his decision to join the party.
According to Sani, Azare was delighted to find him in good health despite rumors that he had died from drinking gutter water. Azare even gave him a token of appreciation for his well-being. Sani’s switch to the PDP is a significant blow to the APC, particularly in Bauchi state.
