Nigerian singer Burna Boy, a Grammy award winner, has secured four nominations for the 2023 Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards.
In the Best Male R&B/Pop Artist category, he will compete against notable international acts such as Chris Brown, Drake, The Weeknd, and Usher. Burna Boy has also been nominated in the Video Director of the Year category, alongside Asap Rocky, Dave Free & Kendrick Lamar, Director X, and others, for his work on the visually captivating music video for his hit single “Last Last.”
Furthermore, Burna Boy has received two more nominations in the Viewer’s Choice category and the Best International Act category, both for the track “Last Last.”
Another Grammy winner, Tems, follows closely with three nominations, including a nomination in the Best Female R&B/Pop Artist category.
Additionally, she has earned two shared nominations with Future and Drake for their collaboration on the track “Wait For You,” which is nominated in the Best Collaboration and Viewer’s Choice categories.
Rising stars Asake and Ayra Starr have each received one nomination. Asake will compete in the Viewer’s Choice and Best New International Act categories, while Ayra Starr will join Burna Boy in the Best International Act category.
