
Burna Boy Sets New Billboard Record for African Artists
Lagos, August 20, 2025, Nigerian superstar Burna Boy has made history as the African artist with the most entries on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, achieving a remarkable milestone this week.
His collaborative track with American rapper Gunna, titled “WGFT”, featured on Gunna’s latest album The Last Wun, debuted at No. 96 on the Billboard Hot 100. This accomplishment brings Burna Boy’s total chart appearances to seven, cementing his lead among African artists.
What’s more: Burna Boy is now the first African artist to debut a song on the Hot 100 for five consecutive years, marking chart entries in 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and now 2025.

His first entry came in 2021 with “Loved By You,” a collaboration with Canadian pop star Justin Bieber.
In 2022, he scored his first solo spot on the Hot 100 with the global hit “Last Last,” which climbed to No. 44.
