Cardi B Makes History as Her Second Album Debuts at No. 1
American rapper Cardi B has cemented her place in music history, becoming the only female rapper whose first two studio albums both launched at number one on the Billboard 200 chart.
Her sophomore album, Am I The Drama?, debuted atop the chart with 200,000 equivalent album units moved in its first week.
This success mirrors the debut of her first album, Invasion of Privacy (2018), which also entered at No. 1.
Billboard confirmed the feat in a statement shared on Instagram, noting that the sales for Am I The Drama? marked 2025’s biggest week for a female R&B/hip-hop album.
The album’s performance was powered by high streaming numbers and robust physical sales across multiple CD and vinyl versions.
Beyond chart dominance, Cardi B also broke new ground in marketing her release. On September 19, 2025, she collaborated with Walmart and Wing Drone Delivery to distribute 176 signed copies of Am I The Drama? via drones across the Dallas,Fort Worth area, setting a Guinness World Record for the most drone deliveries in one hour.
She called the stunt “a special moment” and “a crazy new way to drop music.”
