Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be a citizen, refugee, or permanent resident of an eligible Commonwealth country (see the full list below).
- Be enrolled in a PhD program at a university in a Commonwealth country at the time of application confirmation (September 2025).
- Ensure their home and host institutions (UK university) have an established partnership.
- Provide supporting statements from supervisors in both institutions.
- Hold a master’s degree by September 2025.
- Be ready to begin academic studies in the UK by September 2025.
- Not currently hold any other scholarships for overseas study.

Application Process
To apply for the Commonwealth Split-site Scholarships:
- Submit an application to a university that has a funding agreement with the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC).
- Complete and submit your application through the CSC online application system.
- Applications not submitted through this system will not be accepted.
