A major security incident left dozens of travellers stranded on a key highway in Kogi State after armed bandits reportedly laid siege to the Oshokoshoko Obajana Road.

According to eyewitness accounts, the gunmen launched their ambush midday, blocking traffic and preventing movement along the route. The attack sparked panic among passengers, many were forced to abandon their vehicles and flee on foot for safety.

The incident builds on a recent string of violent assaults on major highways in the region, including a recent case where 21 passengers, among them women and infants, were rescued by security forces after a similar ambush along another Kogi corridor.
