Darwin Núñez Set to Leave Liverpool for Al-Hilal as Reds Plot Rebuild
Liverpool have given the green light for Darwin Núñez to negotiate a move to Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal, with a deal reportedly close to completion. The proposed deal includes a £46 million upfront fee, potentially rising to £56 million with add-ons, offering Liverpool a valuable recoup on their initial big outlay.
Although Al-Hilal’s current offer is significantly lower than the £85 million Liverpool originally paid in 2022, the Reds appear ready to let Núñez go as part of a broader attacking overhaul.
Núñez has personally agreed to the move, with negotiations now focusing on personal terms. He’s expected to undergo a medical and could visit Al-Hilal’s training camp in Germany before the switch is finalized.
This exit opens the door for Liverpool to pursue a high-profile replacement, Newcastle’s Alexander Isak. Though an opening £110 million bid has been rejected and Newcastle’s valuation remains steep (around £150 million), Liverpool are maintaining Isak at the top of their wish list.
With the sale of Núñez adding to an already strong turnover of players, Liverpool could see over £190–251 million in transfer revenue this summer, reinforcing their firing squad refresh under manager Arne Slot.
Darwin Núñez is on the brink of leaving Liverpool for Al-Hilal in a deal worth up to around £56 million. Personal terms are being finalized, paving the way for a major reshuffle at Anfield with Alexander Isak emerging as the leading transfer target to fill the void.
