Davido: I’d Still Do Music Even Without Fame Davido: I’d Still Do Music Even Without Fame

Afrobeats megastar Davido has revealed that his passion for music runs so deep that he would still choose the same career path even if fame never came his way.

Speaking in an interview with Okay Africa, the multi-award-winning artist explained that making music isn’t just about success or recognition, it’s about his genuine love for the craft. He said this passion continues to push him to create, evolve, and connect with people around the world.

Davido also reflected on the priceless bond he shares with his fans, describing it as something money can’t buy.

“One thing I’m proud of is that our love from fans is natural, it’s not something you can purchase. I’ve had people travel from far and wide to see me, from long-time supporters to brand-new listeners. My catalogue is huge, and I’m grateful for that connection,” he said.

Looking back on his journey, Davido shared the advice he would give his younger self: be patient, stay resilient, and trust the process.

“It’s a long journey filled with highs and lows, smiles and frowns, but you’ll get there. When I started, the dream wasn’t this big. That’s how God works,” he added.

The singer acknowledged that while his career has had its challenges, hard work and consistency have always paid off. And even if life took a different turn, he believes the passion that drives him today would still lead him back to music.
