Ekiti Governor Oyebanji Reaffirms Commitment to Inclusive, People‑Centered Governance
Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has reiterated his administration’s dedication to fostering inclusive development, institutional reform, and people‑oriented governance, underscoring efforts to strengthen service delivery at all levels of government.
Oyebanji’s affirmation came on Tuesday in Ado‑Ekiti, where he was represented by his deputy, Mrs. Monisade Afuye, at the official inauguration of the newly completed office complex for the Ministry of Local Government Affairs at the State Secretariat.
The governor said the upgraded facility, which replaces the ministry’s long‑used old offices, is part of a broader strategy to ensure that public servants have a conducive working environment that enhances efficiency, coordination and delivery of services to citizens at the grassroots.
“This modern complex will enable officers to plan, coordinate, supervise and ultimately serve our people better,” Oyebanji stated, highlighting the government’s aim to deepen transparency and drive reforms that benefit ordinary residents.
He also stressed the administration’s focus on capacity building and welfare incentives for civil servants, describing the civil service as the “engine room” of governance and pledged continued support to enhance its performance.
Officials at the event, including the Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Folorunso Olabode, praised the project as a tangible demonstration of the government’s commitment to improving the operational capacity of state institutions and boosting staff morale.
The initiative reflects ongoing priorities of the Oyebanji administration to strengthen institutional frameworks and ensure that governance structures are responsive and inclusive, particularly at the local government level.
