Engin Says Osimhen Likely to Play Despite Injury Ahead of Liverpool Clash

Turkish football commentator Sinan Engin has expressed confidence that Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen will feature in Galatasaray’s upcoming match against Liverpool, despite carrying a recent injury.

Speaking on Beyaz TV (via Habersarikirmizi), Engin was dismissive of suggestions that Osimhen’s fitness could rule him out. “Even if he breaks his leg, Osimhen would want to play in the Liverpool match,” Engin said. He added that Osimhen is not the type of player to pick and choose games, and is determined to be on the pitch for one of Europe’s biggest fixtures.

The striker had picked up an ankle injury while on international duty for Nigeria during a World Cup qualification match against Rwanda. As a result, he has missed several games for his club to recover.

Galatasaray coach Okan Buruk has confirmed that Osimhen is still dealing with pain, but remains hopeful he can be reintegrated into the squad. Buruk stated that Osimhen has begun partial training and that decisions about his involvement will depend on how much he can tolerate physically.

If Osimhen does take the field in the Liverpool match, it would be a major boost for Galatasaray’s European aspirations. His presence would bring attacking firepower and a psychological lift for his teammates.
