Ex-BBNaija Alum Praise Nelson Says Fame Is Both a Gift and a Burden
Former Big Brother Naija housemate Praise Nelson has opened up about the dual nature of fame following his stint on the popular reality show. In an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Praise described how the exposure the show granted him also left him vulnerable to constant public scrutiny, “the show gives people visibility… it gives people a view of your life”.
He explained that maintaining personal privacy became increasingly challenging once he exited the BBNaija house, with the relentless attention often becoming overwhelming.
Praise also highlighted the incessant online trolling as one of the most trying aspects of newfound fame. He recounted how, regardless of one’s actions or good intentions, critics persist in hurling negative remarks. “They just don’t stop. … People just hate for no reason,” he lamented
Reflecting on the irony of this attention, he added, “This person doesn’t even know me … and you’re saying this kind of thing about me.” He concluded by acknowledging that fame inevitably comes with both “negativity and positivity”.
