“False Marriage Rumours Almost Drove Me Into Depression,” Reveals Veekee JamesFalse Marriage Rumours Almost Drove Me Into Depression,” Reveals Veekee James

Fashion entrepreneur Veekee James recently spoke candidly about one of the most difficult chapters of her life, when baseless rumours nearly destroyed her peace of mind.

During an appearance with her husband Femi Atere on The Nancy Isime Show, Veekee addressed the hurtful claims suggesting she had “snatched” her husband from a close friend. These rumours, she said, weren’t just painful, they nearly broke her spirit.

“It almost put me in depression… That was the first time I truly understood what people who say they are depressed feel,” she reflected

Overwhelmed, Veekee retreated to her room and spent two days in tears, praying fervently.

“I locked myself away for two days, crying and praying for divine intervention,” she shared

She turned to her faith for strength, asking God for clarity and protection, for both her sanity and her brand.

“I told God, ‘You know the truth. If these things they’re saying are lies, please help us get through this without it ruining my brand.’ The way He brought me out felt like a miracle,” she recounted.

As she regained her balance, she developed resilience, nothing fazes her as it used to.

“Eventually, I found it easier to laugh off such false stories,” she noted

Interestingly, unlike what her brother advises, Veekee reads her social media comments. She explained:

“Most times my brother says, ‘Don’t read the comments.’ But I always go through them. Whenever I’m trending, I want to know why. I reflect, ask myself if I’ve done too much, and then pray for guidance,” she shared

Beyond the controversy, Veekee also opened up about her relationship with her husband. She said she sought divine confirmation before saying “yes”, and once she received it, nothing has shaken her faith.

“When I met Femi, I knew he was the one. I asked God to confirm, and when He did, my ears were blocked till today and forever,” she revealed

Looking ahead, Veekee spoke of raising children who are visible, confident role models, rather than raising them in secrecy.

“I don’t intend to hide my kids. I want them to be role models, to travel the world and showcase their talents,” she said

Her husband, Femi, meanwhile, embraces a quieter role, more comfortable being behind the scenes and unfazed by online chatter.

“I’m more of a behind-the-scenes person… whatever people say online doesn’t get to me,” he added
