Falz Slams President Tinubu: ‘You’ve Failed Woefully’ on Security and Governance
Popular Nigerian rapper and activist Folarin “Falz” Falana has heavily criticized President Bola Tinubu, accusing him of failing to protect citizens amid worsening insecurity across the country.
Falz’s remarks came in response to a mass killing in Benue State, where over 200 people were reportedly slain and burned alive.
He took to his official X (formerly Twitter) account to voice his outrage, stating:
“You have consistently shown that you are incapable of performing the primary duty of securing lives and property of your citizens. This routine statement does not cut it.”
Key Accusations
Neglect of Security: Falz argued that Tinubu’s public statements following the Benue bloodshed are superficial and insufficient.
Lack of Empathy: He lamented that the scale of the tragedy has not received the attention it deserves, asking, “why are we so wicked to ourselves?”
Broken Promises: Reflecting on Tinubu’s two-year mark in office, Falz claimed that instead of progress, Nigeria has regressed.
He referred to Tinubu’s campaign slogan, “Emilokan” (“it’s my turn”), questioning what vision has been delivered since.
Broader Critique
In a larger conversation about governance, Falz insisted that the president must do more than issue routine statements. He called for real action, policies and strategies that genuinely tackle insecurity and protect citizens.
