Funke Akindele Is My Number-One Mentor, BBNaija Winner Imisi
Opeyemi Ayanwale, well-known as Imisi and recently crowned winner of Big Brother Naija Season 10, has named actress‐filmmaker Funke Akindele as her greatest mentor, expressing a strong desire to collaborate with her in the future.
At 23, Imisi spoke up during the prize presentation event held in Lagos where she was awarded ₦150 million and a brand‐new SUV.
She said that her time inside the Big Brother house rekindled her love for acting and showed viewers her natural ability in this craft. According to her, even fellow housemates recognized her as a “natural actress.”
Here’s how she put it:
“Funke Akindele is my number one mentor. I really hope to work with her one day. I also admire Bimbo Ademoye and Bolaji Ogunmola, they inspire me a lot.”
On her victory, Imisi said the win felt overwhelming, and she expressed heartfelt thanks to her supporters across the country.
When asked whether her win was influenced by ethnic bias (especially from among Yoruba people), she acknowledged that might have had some influence, saying, “Yoruba people are very supportive of their own.” But she emphasized that what really carried her was how people related to her authenticity and vulnerability.
She also thanked her spiritual community, in particular her Celestial Church, for their prayers and support.
