In a milestone moment for the Nigerian fashion industry, Heineken has marked a full decade of partnership with Lagos Fashion Week (LFW). The collaboration, which began in 2015, has grown from simple sponsorship into a strategic alliance that champions African design talent and boosts Lagos’s status on the global fashion stage.

A Decade of Impact

Under the banner of the campaign “City of Cities: Where Taste Rules,” Heineken celebrated the shared journey of creativity, style and cultural influence that has unfolded between the brand and LFW.

At an exclusive press cocktail held in Victoria Island, Lagos, industry leaders, media personalities and designers gathered to commemorate the milestone and to set the tone for this year’s edition of LFW, which is also its 15th anniversary.

From Sponsorship to Strategic Partnership

What started in 2015 as a brand sponsorship has evolved into a much deeper commitment. Over the years, Heineken has supported initiatives such as the Heineken Africa Inspired Collection and has helped shine a spotlight on African design via international showcases.

The partnership has also placed emphasis on sustainability, cross‑industry collaboration and building the ecosystem around fashion, rather than just the runway.

Looking Ahead

With the upcoming LFW event scheduled for October 29 to November 2, 2025, the partnership is poised to continue supporting emerging designers, enabling global visibility for African fashion, and reaffirming Lagos’s position as a hub of culture and style.

Sandra Amachree, Head of Marketing & Communications at Nigerian Breweries (Heineken’s parent company locally), emphasised that the brand’s involvement is “a deliberate, long‑term commitment to cultural innovation … for 10 years we have championed sustainability, supported cross‑industry collaborations, and helped elevate African fashion with a lasting vision for cultural impact.”
