“My Song Pulled Someone Out of Depression at a Psychiatric Home,” Says Vector
Nigerian rap and hip-hop artist Vector Tha Viper has revealed that his collaboration with Goodgirl LA, Early Momo, played a role in lifting someone out of depression in a psychiatric facility.
Speaking on The Honest Bunch podcast about the power of conscious music, Vector emphasized his belief that success isn’t only measured by chart rankings but by the real impact music has on listeners’ lives.
He noted that certain songs gain traction in moments when people are struggling emotionally. For instance, when his track with Seyi Vibez, Mercy, begins trending, it often signals that people are wrestling with overthinking. He explained:
“Music should be spread across in such a way that whatever people are going through, they find the music to fit that purpose.”
Reflecting on Early Momo, Vector shared that he received a message from a psychiatric home stating the song helped someone in deep depression. He described this unexpected response as “a successful moment”, evidence that success can be defined in more ways than by chart performance.
