Naira Marley Urges Nigerian Youths to Quit Sports Betting

Nigerian rapper Azeez Fashola, better known as Naira Marley, has called on young people in the country to stop engaging in sports betting. He warned that the practice is not a legitimate occupation and urged youths to refrain from “wasting” their money on it.

On his X (formerly Twitter) page, he wrote:

“Football bet no be work bro. Please stop before they finish you.”

His advice comes amid growing concern over the impact of sports betting on Nigerian youths. According to Business Insider Africa, Nigeria leads the continent in sports betting activity. The report estimates that there are about 168.7 million active bettors in the country, with roughly 70% of the population aged 30 and under involved.
