The gunman was identified as 27‑year‑old Shane Devon Tamura, a Las Vegas resident. He reportedly traveled cross‑country before carrying out the attack. He was found dead on the 33rd floor, having apparently died by a self-inflicted gunshot.

Authorities reported finding a concealed‑carry permit, additional firearms, ammunition, and medication in Tamura’s vehicle. A history of mental health issues was also noted.
