Nkechi Blessing Rebukes Trolls for Marriage-Shaming: “Celebrities Deserve Respect Too”
Actress Nkechi Blessing has taken to social media to confront a troll who criticized her over her marital status, insisting that being a public figure does not grant people licence to invade her personal life.
In an Instagram video, Nkechi asked why people believe they can comment on a celebrity’s marriage or age “just because” they are in the public eye. She reminded her followers that she, too, experiences real emotions and does not deserve insults about her personal choices.
She also revealed that she engaged with the critic directly via direct messages. She defended her position forcefully, stating:
“You bring rubbish to me. I give you rubbish back.”
In another post, she wrote:
“Nobody sees the trigger, they only see your Reaction. What a world we live in… Like I said, Aura for Aura. Nobody can mess with my mental health, never.”
Nkechi’s response comes amid a broader conversation about celebrities’ rights to privacy and the often harsh judgments public figures face regarding marriage, age, and personal life.
