The Nigerian Official Selection Committee (NOSC) has officially launched the submission window for Nigeria’s entry into the Best International Feature Film category at the 98th Academy Awards. Filmmakers across Nigeria are encouraged to submit their qualifying feature films online via the official NOSC portal between August 13 and September 12, 2025.

To qualify, submitted films must meet the following criteria:

Feature-length productions created outside the United States, with at least 50% of the dialogue in a non-English language, Nigerian Pidgin English is accepted.

Must include accurate and legible English subtitles.

Must conform to technical standards recognized by the Academy (AMPAS), such as 35 mm, 70 mm, or digital cinema formats.

Must have enjoyed a minimum seven-day theatrical release in Nigeria, scheduled between December 1, 2024, and October 31, 2025.

Once selected, Nigeria’s official submission will represent the nation at the Oscars ceremony scheduled for March 15, 2026, in Los Angeles, reaching viewers in more than 200 territories worldwide.

As the only body authorized by the Academy to make this selection, the NOSC urges interested filmmakers to explore its website for the full set of eligibility guidelines and detailed submission instructions.
