Acclaimed filmmaker and media executive Femi Odugbemi has officially launched BLACKBox, a cutting-edge content design, production consultancy, and film/television training hub nestled in the vibrant heart of Lekki, Lagos.

Designed as a dynamic creative ecosystem, BLACKBox aims to nurture talent, shape narratives, and support storytellers across television, film, documentary, and branded content.

Its modern, flexible facilities include workshop spaces that can accommodate up to 50 participants, along with breakout rooms, meeting spaces, and areas for roundtable discussions, ideal for fostering collaboration and hands-on learning.

“We envision BLACKBox as more than just a space,” Odugbemi shared. “It’s an ecosystem for shaping compelling African stories with global impact. “Our mission is to empower creators not only in mastering the art of storytelling but also in shaping, structuring, and delivering content that is authentic, innovative, and market-ready.”

At its core, BLACKBox offers project development consultancy tailored to both emerging and established creators, helping guide ideas from their inception all the way to screen-ready productions. Additionally, the hub will host an array of training intensives, masterclasses, and mentorship programmes, with a focus on building skills in scriptwriting, production design, directing, and audience engagement.

Moreover, Odugbemi’s renowned production outfit, Zuri24 Media, celebrated for TV series such as Battleground, Brethren, Covenant, and films like Gidi Blues and The Man Died, will now operate from within the BLACKBox facility. This strategic co-location offers creators a real-world, immersive environment where training and industry practice intersect seamlessly.

By merging consultancy, content development, and ongoing professional training under one roof, BLACKBox is poised to become a crucial engine in Nigeria’s creative economy, offering both artistic mentorship and strategic support to storytellers across Africa.
