Phyna Blasts Dangote Group over “Negligence” and “Insensitivity” Following Sister’s Death
Reality star Phyna has publicly criticized Dangote Group, accusing the conglomerate of neglect and callousness in its handling of her late sister Ruth’s medical and funeral expenses.
Through a series of emotional posts on Instagram, Phyna claimed that Dangote failed to respond to calls made on the day of the burial and that the company’s public statements misrepresented the scope of their support.
She asserted that while Dangote covered medical bills at Lagoon Hospital, her family had to foot other expenses, from Auchi to Irrua, with no reimbursement.
Phyna also challenged a letter sent to her father by Dangote, alleging that it was drafted by the company, not by him, as an acknowledgment of funds provided for funeral rites. She said the act amounted to impersonation and was “especially hurtful,” questioning why the company could not simply request a receipt from the family instead.
“@dangotegroup, if you needed an acknowledgement letter … you would have asked for it from the family,” she wrote. She added: “Like you killed my sister… una go do massive PR … you con still by una self write acknowledgement letter impersonating my father and send it to him to sign.”
Phyna’s statements have drawn wide attention on social media, reigniting discussion around corporate responsibility, transparency, and sensitivity to personal grief.
