The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has unseated Plateau Speaker Yakubu Yakson Sanda in his constituency seat.
Hon. Mrs. Happiness Matthew Akawu, representing Pengana constituency, emerged victorious with 9,926 votes, defeating APC’s Sanda who scored 7,936 votes.
Additionally, in another election Naanlong Gapyil Daniel, who is the Majority Leader and represents Mikang State Constituency under the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), also lost his re-election bid to Matthew Sule from the opposition PDP.
