Popular Organic Beef Mince Recalled in Australia Over Plastic Contamination
Australian food regulators have ordered a recall of certain packs of organic beef mince after fragments of plastic were discovered inside them, raising concerns over a possible health risk if ingested.
What is being recalled
The recalled product is Auspork Australia Country Organic Beef Mince, sold in 500 g packs at independent food retailers, including IGA outlets across New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia, and the Northern Territory, as well as Supabarn in the Australian Capital Territory.
The affected packs are marked with a best-before date of 28 September 2025.
What authorities are advising
Do not consume the affected mince.
Return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
Anyone who feels unwell after consuming it is urged to seek medical advice.
The recall was initiated by Food Standards Australia and New Zealand (FSANZ) because of the contamination.
