SI Scholarship for Global Professionals: Your Pathway to Study in Sweden

Overview of the Scholarship
The SI Scholarship for Global Professionals covers one- or two-year, full-time master’s programs in a wide range of fields. More than 700 programs taught in English at universities across Sweden are eligible, giving students access to world-class education.
Application Period: The scholarship opens annually in February for programs starting in the autumn semester.
Scholarship Benefits
Recipients of the SI Scholarship enjoy a comprehensive funding package, which includes:
- Full tuition fee coverage, paid directly to the university.
- Monthly living allowance of SEK 12,000 to support everyday expenses.
- A travel grant of SEK 15,000 (or SEK 10,000 for selected countries) as a one-time payment.
- Membership in the SI Network for Future Global Professionals (NFGP), offering opportunities for professional growth and networking.
- Access to the SI Alumni Network for continued engagement and development after completing your studies.
However, the scholarship does not cover additional family member expenses, insurance, or application fees. It is essential to confirm insurance arrangements with your university.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the SI Scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:
- Citizenship: Be a citizen of one of the 33 eligible countries, including Nigeria, Brazil, Egypt, and Thailand. Dual citizens must choose one nationality to apply.
- Master’s Programs: Your chosen master’s program must be among the 700+ eligible options, which will be listed on November 1, 2024.
- Tuition Fees: You must be liable to pay fees for your studies in Sweden and follow all University Admissions procedures.
- Work Experience: A minimum of 3,000 hours of relevant work experience is required for most applicants, with exceptions for specific countries.
- Leadership Experience: Applicants must demonstrate leadership skills through their work or engagement in civil society.
Key Dates to Remember
- 15 October 2024 – 15 January 2025: Apply for master’s programs at University Admissions.
- 1 November 2024: Scholarship application documents are published.
- 10 February – 26 February 2025: SI Scholarship application window opens.
- 27 March 2025: University Admissions results are announced.
- 24 April 2025: SI Scholarship recipients are announced.
Application Process
- Apply for a Master’s Program: Complete your application at University Admissions by the January deadline.
- Prepare Your Scholarship Application: Visit the SI website on February 10, 2025, for specific instructions.
- SI Screening and Evaluation: SI reviews applications in March.
- Final Announcement: Successful candidates are notified on April 24, 2025.
Previous Work and Leadership Experience
Work experience is a key requirement, and applicants must use SI’s template forms to certify their hours. Priority is given to applicants with experience related to sustainable development. Leadership experience can come from professional roles or community initiatives.
