Skales Credits Prayer at Shiloh in 2013 for His Musical Breakthrough

Singer Raoul Njeng-Njeng, known professionally as Skales, has revealed that a pivotal prayer he made at the 2013 Shiloh event held by Living Faith Church (Winners’ Chapel) played a crucial role in reviving his music career.

At the time, Skales faced stagnation following the expiration of his contract with Empire Mate Entertainment (EME). His fortunes turned around after his colleague Timaya invited him to Shiloh. During the program, participants were encouraged to write down seven things they were praying for—Skales chose his request carefully and repeatedly asked for “a global hit song”.

He believes that his 2015 song “Shake Body” was the divine answer to that prayer. The track has experienced a remarkable resurgence, recently gaining international exposure after Barcelona star Lamine Yamal and teammates danced to it, an event Skales views as affirmation of his faith and perseverance.

Reflecting on the journey, Skales posted on X (formerly Twitter):

“In 2013 @timayatimaya took me to Shiloh and we were told to write down 7 things we are praying for and I wrote a song that will take me to the ends of the world 7 times … fast forward till today he gave me a divine unending song … when they think it’s over another thing pops up about this damn song… Lord Jesus thank you.”
