Supreme Court Asked To Sack President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Based On The Doctrine Of Lis Pendens

The Hope Democratic Party (HDP) has petitioned the Supreme Court to remove President Bola Ahmed Tinubu from office.

According to ThisDay, the HDP and its 2019 presidential candidate, Chief Ambrose Owuru, Tinubu should be fired for illegally presenting himself for inauguration as president on May 29 while being aware of a pending appeal against the conduct of the 2023 presidential election before the top court.

The HDP’s National Coordinator, Alhaji Anwal Ibrahim, made the announcement in a press statement sent to journalists in Abuja on Monday, December 4.

According to the opposition party, the doctrine of ‘Lis Pendens’ means that Tinubu’s turn to be President of Nigeria has not yet come.

According to HP, the Lis Pendens theory has rendered the 2023 presidential election, as well as its outcome, unlawful and futile.

According to the statement, Tinubu requested and received permission from the Supreme Court on May 18 to be joined as an interested party in Owuru’s petition seeking to be declared the adjudged winner of the 2019 election.

Ibrahim claimed Tinubu should not have been inaugurated in as president since he had joined the pending litigation against Buhari for alleged mandate theft.
