Armed assailants have stormed a community in Igbo Ofe Ora, near Oke‑Ode in the Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, abducting a woman and injuring her brother‑in‑law during a violent morning attack.

According to a family source, the incident occurred around 11:00 a.m. on Monday, when the gunmen, described by locals as “Fulani attackers”, barged into the otherwise quiet agrarian village and opened fire as a man was returning home on his motorcycle.

The abducted woman, named by the family as Rukayat, was immediately whisked away by the attackers. During the assault, a relative, identified as Abdulateef, was shot. He survived but sustained serious injuries, and was first taken to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, but due to a strike by hospital staff, had to be transferred to a private hospital for treatment.

Shortly after the kidnapping, the assailants reportedly contacted the family and demanded a ransom of ₦100 million for the woman’s release.

As of now, no official statement has been issued by security agencies, and tension remains high in the village. Locals are living in fear, and there is anxiety about possible further attacks or an escalation of violence.
