Tinubu Aide Calls for Increased International Cooperation in Nigeria’s Fight Against Terrorism

A top aide to President Bola Tinubu has urged the international community to deepen its collaboration with Nigeria to tackle the growing terrorist threat in the country.

Speaking about the security challenges, the presidential aide emphasised that Nigeria cannot confront terrorism alone and needs strong partnerships, particularly with countries like the United States.

The call comes against a backdrop of escalating insurgency and insecurity in several parts of the country. According to the aide, enhanced intelligence sharing, capacity building, and sustained diplomatic cooperation are vital if Nigeria is to make meaningful progress.

The Tinubu administration has already moved to strengthen counter-terrorism infrastructure, including establishing the National Counter-Terrorism Centre (NCTC) and pushing for regional coordination mechanisms.

In his public appeal, the president’s aide added that such global partnerships must be underpinned by respect for Nigeria’s sovereignty: any external involvement should support rather than undermine the nation’s control over its security agenda.

As Nigeria ramps up its anti-terror campaign, the administration is investing in broader diplomatic engagements to mobilise allies and strengthen multilateral frameworks for tackling extremism and violent crime.
