Tiwa Savage Urges Fellow Artists to Stay Grounded Despite Fame
International Afrobeats star Tiwa Savage has called on her colleagues in the music industry to remain humble, even amid increasing fame and recognition.
Speaking during an interview on New York’s Hot 97 FM, Savage reminded artists that they are ambassadors of Afrobeats, and warned that fame is not permanent. She emphasized that success comes from God and that losing integrity could lead to a more painful fall than never rising at all.
“I would rather have never risen than rise and lose my vision,” she said, underscoring her commitment to staying true to her values despite her success.
Savage also praised a few peers whom she admires: she commended Ayra Starr for her confidence, described Tems as intriguingly mysterious, and applauded Diamond Platnumz for his skill and how he uplifts his community through music.
