Wahid Oshodi Re-Elected as Executive Vice President of ITTF
Nigerian sports administrator Wahid Oshodi has secured re-election as Executive Vice President of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), the federation confirmed on November 17, 2025.
The re-election occurred during the continuation of ITTF’s Annual General Meeting, which was held online on November 15. Oshodi won in the first round of voting, defeating 14 other contenders from around the globe.
Oshodi’s win adds another four-year term (2025-2029) to his already distinguished international tenure. He is joined on the eight-member vice presidency team by representatives from the United States, China, Turkey, Australia, Ecuador, Romania, and Jordan.
He also makes history as the only African among three African candidates, the other two being Egypt’s Alaa Meshref and South Africa’s Hajera Kajee, to have won a seat on this top ITTF body.
Back home, Oshodi holds the role of President of ITTF Africa. He previously served in significant capacities within Nigerian sports: as President of the Nigerian Table Tennis Federation since 2013 and as Lagos State Commissioner for Youth, Sports, and Social Development.
Looking forward, Oshodi has pledged to continue championing greater African representation and influence within the ITTF, leveraging his global platform to support the development of table tennis across the continent.
