NLC’s Nationwide Strike Challenged by Reno Omokri over Endorsement Controversy

Reno Omokri has expressed his belief that the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) lacks the moral grounds to declare a nationwide strike in response to President Bola Tinubu’s removal of fuel subsidy.

In a tweet on Saturday, Omokri argued that the NLC, which had previously endorsed Peter Obi of the Labour Party, could not demand a strike over a policy that Obi himself had promised to implement if elected.

Omokri emphasized that the NLC’s executive members who endorsed Obi’s presidential candidacy prior to the election must be removed if the planned nationwide strike is to be seen as separate from Obi’s political campaign.

He stated that until this purge takes place, the strike would be perceived as a continuation of Obi’s agenda. Omokri suggested that for the NLC to gain credibility and effectively mobilize Nigerians to participate in the strike, they must address this matter.
