Nigerian, Lagos Based Woman Sets A New Record With Handmade Wig Longer Than Seven Olympic Pools

Weird News Today gives you the most odd internet tales. These strange but true stories will make you doubt reality.

A woman from Lagos, Nigeria, has created history by making a handcrafted wig measuring 351.28 metres (1,152 feet, 5 inches) in length.

Helen Williams, a professional wigmaker, spent more than two million naira (almost $2,500) and 11 days creating the wig, which is longer than seven Olympic swimming pools.

According to Guinness World Records, Williams first created the underlay using wig-cap netting and black cloth attached to a cycling helmet, before completing the piece with 1,000 bundles of hair, 12 cans of hair spray, 35 tubes of hair glue, and 6,250 hair clips.

Finding the materials to make the longest wig was not an easy task, Williams explained in a statement. My experience as a wigmaker helped a lot.
