Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has won the governorship election held on March 18, 2023, in 18 out of 20 local governments.
The incumbent and All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, who sought re-election, had 718,595 votes as at the collation of 15 LG results.
Sanwo-Olu was leading his closest rivals, Labour Party (LP) candidate Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour who had 257,502 votes and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Olajide Adediran aka Jandor who had 59,172 votes.
The LP won one LG, Amuwo Odofin, while Sanwo-Olu won Lagos Island, Apapa, Epe, Agege, Ajeromi Ifelodun, Ikeja, Mushin, Surulere, Ibeju-Lekki, Ifako-Ijaiye, Badagry, Lagos Mainland, Alimosho, Ojo, Ikorodu, Kosofe, Oshodi-Isolo, and Somolu.
Places that there were Cancellation and Over-voting or Violence
There were 3 cancellations in Mushin, owing to over voting two units and one disruption, 8 Cancellations at Surulere polling units, Ibeju Lekki Cancellation at 2 polling units.
Lakowe and Abijo due to disruption and burning of BVAS machines and ballot boxes at Lakowe.
Community primary school Abijo, ballot papers and boxes were burnt and IFAKO IJAIYE Cancellation at a ward due to over voting.
Lagos Mianland Cancellation at 3 polling units, Epetedo2 and Owaya 1 due to disruption and snatching of ballot boxes
Alimosho Cancellation at two polling units due to disruption and over voting.
Ojo Cancellation at 43 polling units of 7 wards due to over voting, disruption as a result ballot snatching
