President-elect Tinubu pledges to increase Nigerian workers’ wages to a “living wage

President-elect Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has promised to increase the wages of Nigerian workers to a “living wage,” providing them with a decent standard of living and enabling them to support their families.

In a statement released on Workers’ Day in Abuja, Tinubu pledged to be a dependable ally to workers in the fight for social justice. He expressed his admiration for the labor movement’s contribution to the country’s struggle for independence and democracy and vowed to collaborate with the Nigeria Labour Congress and Trade Union Congress to improve the welfare and working conditions of all working people.

Tinubu also called for unity and cooperation in the fight against poverty, ignorance, disease, disunity, ethnic and religious hate, and other negative forces that threaten the stability and prosperity of Nigeria.
