Monguno, who heads the Security, Facilities, and Intelligence Committee of the Presidential Transition Council (PTC), highlighted the committee’s efforts to provide all-round security during the inauguration. Security measures will be intensified at the Eagle Square, the venue of the event, and its surroundings. Additionally, strict security protocols will be enforced in and around hotels accommodating guests from both within and outside Nigeria.

The committee includes high-ranking officials such as the Chief of Defence Staff, the Inspector-General of Police, the Director-General of the SSS, and the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA). The Governor of Kebbi State also participates as a representative of the incoming government.

The committee’s main focus is to provide overt and covert security cover for all venues associated with the inauguration, as well as the hotels accommodating invited guests and dignitaries. To maintain order and safety, certain areas surrounding the Eagle Square will experience restricted movement, along with traffic diversions and alternative routes for motorists and pedestrians.

Monguno urged Nigerians to cooperate with the security measures and avoid any actions that could disrupt the peace of the nation. He specifically addressed social media users, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a positive online environment during the event. Monguno requested their understanding until the departure of foreign visitors, ensuring a conducive atmosphere for the occasion.
